After 3km this ends at a T junction, and as you approach this you can see the Aero Club a kilometer or so straight ahead. Turn right into Jacks Road over the bridge and after 800m at a crossroads turn left into Maslens Lane, then follow the common route below.
From Tamworth / Armidale via Thunderbolts Way and Barrington: before entering Gloucester turn right at the Bowling Club just before the 50kph limit (signposted Newcastle), after a dog-leg left turn right onto Bucketts Way South, go past the Golf Club where the speed limit changes to 80kph and take the next left into Jacks Road, after 1.7km turn right at a crossroads into Maslens Lane, then follow the common route below.
From Sydney / Newcastle via Bucketts Way South through Stroud and Stratford: when you reach the 80kph limit approaching Gloucester go past Fairbairns Road, travel another couple of kms and take the next right into Jacks Road, after 1.7km turn right into Maslens Lane, then follow common route below.
Common Route: Maslens Lane is a good dirt road leading to the flying club, bending left at the farmhouses. It's in the middle of a dairy farm, so if there are any electric tapes strung across the road take them down, drive over them and reattach behind you. The last 200m can be slippery if it's wet, but it's wide and flat so stay in the middle and take it easy.
Cows may block the road at milking times – typically before 9am and between 3 and 5pm.
The runway is North-South so the sun is a problem in the mornings, but there are no obstructions of any sort to worry an R/Cs model, the view is fantastic all round, and the Clubhouse has TV, hot water, kitchen, toilets and even showers! Camping is available at $15 per night.
The Local Visitors Information Centre has details of accommodation, etc on 02 6558 1406.
